How Qoyod became the source ChatGPT cites for accounting templates

A blog packed with accounting knowledge, yet AI models could not find a short answer to quote. This is how we changed that.

Qoyod is a cloud accounting software company in Saudi Arabia. I worked with them from August 2024 to May 2026 as SEO and GEO content strategy lead. This article summarizes the most important lessons, and the full details and screenshots are in the complete case study.

The problem: lots of knowledge, no quotable answer

Qoyod's blog was rich in accounting knowledge, but it was made of long articles. Answer engines struggled to summarize them or pull a definitive answer out of them, and new content took weeks to show up in results.

The idea: templates as knowledge assets

Ready-made accounting templates, such as an inventory management template, invoice templates and ledgers, are exactly what users search for now. Built well, they become a fast customer acquisition tool and a quotable knowledge asset at the same time.

Three pillars

  1. Quotable structure. I rewrote article intros and summaries to be short and direct, so ChatGPT and Gemini quote them as definitions. I turned complex information into lists and tables.
  2. Template page engineering. I designed each template page as a knowledge asset, not just a download page, with Schema markup telling Google it is a tool and not plain text.
  3. Indexing optimization. I connected new content to a strong internal linking structure so crawlers reach it as soon as it is published.

Results

Under 24 hoursfrom publishing to page one
10+high-intent keywords in first position within a day
3.1 millionSearch Console clicks over 16 months
108.3 millionsearch impressions over 16 months

Indexing time dropped from weeks to under 24 hours. In AI answers, we captured these examples using real Arabic questions:

  • When ChatGPT was asked about the best Saudi websites offering free accounting templates, Qoyod came first.
  • When Gemini was asked about the easiest accounting system for handling VAT, it named Qoyod first and explained how it complies with ZATCA requirements.
  • And in Google AI Mode, it topped the list for best cloud accounting software in Saudi Arabia.

Three lessons that apply to your brand

  1. Write the answer first, then the details. The first paragraph under every heading should be able to be quoted on its own.
  2. Make the page a knowledge asset. A page that offers a tool, a table or a clear definition is more quotable than a general article.
  3. Make crawling easy. Good internal links and structured data cut indexing time dramatically.

These are results in the context of Qoyod, its market and its field. I do not promise to repeat them exactly for another brand, but the same principles apply.

Frequently asked questions

What are Qoyod's templates?

Ready-made accounting templates such as an inventory management template, invoice templates and ledgers, presented as downloadable, quotable knowledge pages.

Can the same approach be applied outside accounting?

Yes, the principle is the same: a clear knowledge asset, a direct answer at the top of the page, and a technical structure that makes indexing easy. The details vary by field.
